so everybody's talking about duets and shit and Prince is all spititual and shit so.... ..Prince and gospel legend Kirk Franklin should do a duet together. That would be so fucking great!!! Haters travel in packs and they are offended or threatened by klhk, haters express intense hostility toward the subject of hate. Haters are annoyed and roll thier eyes when klhk is paid a compliment. ask yourself, are u a hater?

This thread got me thinking.Strange to me that ever since the mid eighties, Prince has always shown his spiritual side. Granted, his spiritual songs weren't always quite as blatant as they are now and they were often sandwiched between more carnal tunes but the message was always there.
The Controversy tour featured not only the Lord's Prayer but also opened with a gospel number entitled The Second Coming. On the Purple Rain tour besides the spiritual over tones of songs like Let's Go Crazy,1999,God,I Would Die 4 U and Purple Rain itself,he'd often say "There's only one Lord, Jesus.". On the Lovesexy tour he flat out said "Save me Jesus" every night and dedicated the second half of the show to his Creator. The song 7 is strait from the Book of Revelations. This isn't an attack on klhk or anybody and I hope it isn't percieved that way but people, especially the media doing articles on Prince, tend to label Prince as being spiritual ever since he's toned down his lyrics. To me, he's just trying to do what he feels is right.

Yes. Prince should make his songs more religious. I just can't get enough of that in a funk song. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Prince has nothing to atone for...he's done SO much spiritual music ...especially stuff U wouldn't realize unless you took the time. Not to mention the unreleased tracks with just the titles alone...

Prince may as well become a gospel singer and call it a day. "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "

Why can't he be a gospel singer and NOT call it a day? Problem is he don't want to shoot his load all at once...stretchin that career as long as he can. Wastin a lot of time in some regards.

Kirk is not a JW. P should do a duet with a well-known JW...can you guys think of anyone. [Edited 3/26/05 21:48pm] Well I know you are talking a bout MJ but he is well known for once being a JW. He could duet with George Benson, Larry Graham, William Devaughn, (you know the guy that sing "Be thankful"....."diamond in the back sun roof top..."). Rebbie Jackson. thats all i can think of at the moment. "Thinking like the Keys on Prince's piano, we'll be just fine"

I hate to count the guy out completely, but things just keep getting worse and worse. I'd rather he just quit now.
