I actually care about the Lovesexy survivor. It's a real struggle to choose which song has to go next.

I'm cool with the album cover. I think his eyebrows are ugly on it, but I like the concept behind it.

The music itself is good too. The album has a nice flow.

The problem is, very few of the songs actually stand out as anything particularly special.

Look at his top 80's albums.

Sign 'O' the Times has IIWYGF, Adore, etc.

1999 has DMSR, Lady Cab Driver, Little Red Corvette, etc.

Purple Rain has When Doves Cry, The Beautiful Ones, Purple Rain, etc.

Dirty Mind has Head, Uptown, When U Were Mine, etc.

The point is, classic albums like these have at least a few classic individual songs on them that always get talked about as being simply ingenius.

Lovesexy though? Besides Anna Stesia, no one song on it really ever gets talked about as being anything particularly amazing.

Lovesexy is solid throughout, and has a couple glimpses of absolute genius, but it's really nothing great overall. This is really pretty run of the mill Prince music when you look at it objectively and without all the "ITS NOT MUSIC ITZ A TRIP!1" or "LOVESEZZY SAVED MY LIFE!1!1" hype.

I guess it's just personal preference of what you like to listen to.
I prefer songs with good beats, catchy hooks that I can sing along
to and songs with great lyrics with strong emotions behind them that I can relate to in some kind of way.

Well, I love them both! I mean, heard TGE and was instantly So in love. Heard Lovesexy, felt: Cool! Heard it again, felt the love. So basically I'm saying I love them, but TGE more. So I care.

Lovesexy = his best

Gold = good but somewhere in the middle
