PrintableJust got the CD and have been listening to it for the past three hours. I love Dirty Mind the song, but the rest is kind of boring. I know that this is the kind of statement that gets people lynched, but if anyone else feels this way, please come forward. I'd like to know if I'm not the only fan who feels this way.
don't feel bad..i used to feel the same way..the only ones i use to like were dirty mind, head and sister...i couldn't stand when u were mine, uptown, and gotta broken heart again...and i could barely stand party up...now i love the whole thing...its one of those albums that either has 2 grow on u or u have to see or hear live to like it...kinda like lovesexy for some people Yesterday is dead...tomorrow hasnt arrived yet....i have just ONE day...

Well, I must say DM was one of the few Prince albums that grew on me instantly. I feel this album if anything is a coherent whole, musically not as diverese as Purple Rain, but I'm still amazed how fresh this album sounds, even this day. The production is anything but demo sounding, imho. | |

[Edited 3/26/05 15:55pm] reminds me, i had that cassette too back in the 80s. still got it somewhere. i nicked it from my cousin's car, cut out a little cover 4 it from a magazine pic. i LOVE the title song Dirty Mind! and when U were mine just floored me at the time. the prettiest yet saddest song ever. Head and PartyUp are wicked dance grooves. But hey if you're listening 2 it today 4 the 1st time ever try and pretend it's not Prince!
