What songs should Prince have given more attention to?

I've seen Prince in concert 5 times now. 4 out of the 5 I've seen him do Purple Rain,Kiss,Little Red Corvette,I Wanna Be Your Lover,Raspberry Beret and Let's Go Crazy. I'm not complaining because they are great classics, but between going to concerts, listening to boots and reading set lists, I've noticed there's quite a few songs that really should've been played more often let alone at all. Some that come to mind are...

It's Gonna Be Lonely-I'm sure he sang it on his first tour and maybe it wouldn't fit with certain set lists but I think it could've maybe been added to ONA or the 1999/Triple Threat tour as a part of the piano set.

Electric Chair-The SNL 15th anniversary was the only live performance I've ever heard of. This would have made a great addition to the Nude tour but I think Prince was more focused on the mega hits from Batman and other albums.

Shockadelica-Would have been perfect in the first half of the Lovesexy show.

Pink Cashmere- Was played often in 1995 and rarely last year as a part of the acoustic set.I'd love to see P at the acoustic guitar with his band backing him up like the Forever In My Life from the SOTT movie doing the song justice.

Why U Wanna Treat Me So Bad?-This was played alot during the early eighties. I'd love to hear an updated version.

Crucial-A personal favorite. This would have been great as a part of the ONA tour as well. I think the most recent line up is very much suited for a song like this.

Feel U Up- Too bad that by the time it was released in 1989 that it wouldn't really have fit any of the set lists that P toured with after that.

I'm really glad that jams like DMSR, I Feel For You, Gotta Broken Heart Again, Strollin and Other Side of the Pillow have seen the light of day again over the last few years. What songs need to get more attention to you?

Wow! You read my mind, especially with Pink Cashmere (prolly my all time fav), Its Gonna Be Lonely and Crucial. Those are some little known powerful ballads. I can listen to Pink Cashmere all day, everyday for the rest of my life.

Sexuality
Private Joy
Dorothy Parker
Pop Life
Do It All Night - The tour I know he played this on was the Dirty Mind Tour. Has he ever played this song on any of the other tours after that one?

I do believe, as well, he's never done this one live, unless it was at a rehearsal that's not circulating. I was really hoping to hear this one at the Celly 2002 after hearing him break out with "With You"!

Sexuality is another personal favorite. To my knowledge it was played at about half of the Controversy tour shows and even less on the Triple Threat tour. I think it would've fit in the first half of the Lovesexy tour set nicely.

Private Joy seems to be another favorite by most old school fans here. Since it's an ode to his mangina, I guess we won't be hearing it again sad

Dorothy Parker and Pop Life have surfaced quite a bit over the last few years and I'm glad.

As far as I know, Do It All Night hasn't been played since 1981. That's another that could've fit into the Lovesexy tour but I'm not sure where else.

I would love to hear Dorothy Parker live.
As well as Free, Starfish and Coffee, Illusion Coma Pimp and Circumstance, Paisley Park . .

But the one song I want to hear him play live more than ANY other is my all time favorite song EVER. . .Alexa DeParis! I had a chance to talk to Mike Scott between songs on the last tour. .I asked him if he could ask P to play it. I told him. . ."Last year I walked down the aisle to that song and I would JUST DIE if he would play even a few bars" He said. ."Aaw that's cool! I don't know he usually doesn't. .but I'll ask!" He didn't play it. I don't know if he actually asked him or not. .but that would have been SOOOOO cool!

That is a real nice song. Rumor has it that it was very much a joint effort on the part of Prince and the Revolution. Maybe for those personal reasons it hasn't been played since 1986.

Others include 2/3rds of the Emancipation album especially One Kiss At A Time,Soul Sanctuary and Joint 2 Joint. The first two have been played about 2 or 3 times each to my knowledge. J2J never has. It would've been nice to have heard these occasionally on the Jam of the Year tour. Jam of the Year,Get Yo Groove On,Face Down and One of Us were the only ones played regularly. Somebody's Somebody and The Holy River were played much less than often.I remember hearing We Gets Up being played before a show here in Washington State.

Tamborine has only been played once at an aftershow in 2002 as far as I know.Other than the Parade tour, I just can't really see where else it would've fit in.

So Far,So Pleased really should have made it's way into the 1999 tour in support of the Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic tour or maybe "rock night" at the 2002 Celebration.

Crucial - definitely. I can listen to that song over and over and over.
Pink Cashmere - that didn't get the play it deserved.
Hot With U - God damn I can't stay still when I play that - gotta gotta dance!

Song from Musicilogy if he tours again:
The Marrying Kind, followed by If I Was The Man In UR Life, just as it follows on the CD.
A Million Days
Life of The Party

During Musicology Tour I wish he had played more songs from Crystal Ball,
Graffiti Bridge, and some less played tracks from Contreversy, and Lovesexy.

The usuals are great and all, but with the shear volume of amazing music hes got
it would be nice to hear something other than Kiss and LRC.

I was SO pumped at the DC show when he played Shh and I was praying for Bambi.

But I guess since this was a big "comeback" tour he had to please the
casual fans confused
If you will, so will I
