What has The Rainbow Children sold?

Is this a bigger stinker than the Vault or New Power Soul? A live album would kick ass, oops I mean, butt!

so including NPGMC members Prince only has about 150,000 fans left. Geez this is sad. His ego has really got the best of him. Noone cares anymore.

I'm not too surprise since it's selling in Canada for almost $30 dollars a pop.

they asked it awhile back, but you would hope sales went up because of the tour. I bet he's sold more JW scriptures than albums on this tour lol

it has sold around 300,000 copies worldwide, not bad considering how uncommercial it is and zero promotion.

It isn't bad I guess, I wonder what Springsteen sold of that acoustic Tom Joad record he put out a few years ago. He also toured theatres that year just by himself. Considering Prince is still a household name and the reviews were good for the record, the numbers are pretty depressing. Without radio you got nothin these days. It's either selling 3 million or selling under 200,000 in the States. There seems to be very few artists that are in the middle these days in the US.

The comparisons are off-base unless you're going to compare independent albums to independent albums. Comparing major label albums to independents is not a level playing field. Not even close. It's the road he's chosen.
