Prince plays POD - TEN YEARS ON!

Hard 2 believe that it is almost TEN YEARS since Prince rocked the Point in Dublin (twice) and then finished the tour with an almighty Funk-Out in POD (Place Of Dance) nightclub. What a gig! Anybody else remember it? Doesn't seem like ten years ago does it? lol

hmm
ive got that boot
i think i shall give it a listen.
I havent heard it for a while but it was great to hear Bono singing
The Cross.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

Hard 2 believe he's only played here once since...well twice if you include the aftershow.

I know being there makes you biast but.....

The POD aftershow is up there with Le New Morning Paris 87, Camden Palace 88, I would say it is the 3rd best aftershow I've ever heard - judging by listening to BOOTS! (only seen 2 aftershows)

1) Le New Morning
2) Camden Palace
3) POD

Hard to believe it's 10 years (and a day or two) since the Emporium Glam Slam aftershows - those to me are unbelievably great aftershows, full of funk, rock, and playfulness. Eric Leeds was there, and they played some amazing stuff - I wish I'd been there, but at least we have the tapes... that's the kind of stuff I would love to see up for download (of course, this would never happen - if you edit out the cussing and the cover tunes, the whole thing wouldn't be the same). Classic shows, though. The Pod doesn't stand out as much for me, but maybe I'll try listening again on the 10th anniversary next week (March 30th, right?).
