that's some bold shit...not gettin thrown off, but bringin the camera up in the first place...like he coulda went "hey prince, take a picture with me!" I know huh? Prince just ignored the situation and kept playing. There were other audience members on stage dancing with him, so he may not of noticed. It was on the news and shyt cuz the guy claimed he was hurt by the bodygaurds. Shake....shake, shake, shake.

first time at an actual concert of his: the hit & run tour in st. paul later on in the same year. I also saw him perform at an NPGMC launch party: The Park West, Chicago. When I bought the tickets they emphasized that "Prince will be there, but there's no guarentee he'll play." They had already launched in NYC and Miami(?) and he didn't play; but he loves Chicago, so I had to take the chance. (I mean it's home to Prince Night at Berlin, OK?) We had to suffer through the Fonky Baldheads & Millenium and just when I was beginning to believe he wouldn't play, I heard the drums and then Prince's voice and he jammed! The Park West is pretty small and we had a table up front so it was real tight. ps. I did my undergrad at Drake. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Forget the exact date, but it was the second of the two July 1994 shows at Glam Slam in Minneapolis.
It was the concert where he played "Gold" for the very first time. No Candy 4 Me

Controversy Tour at the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, VA 1982 The Time and Zapp opened. I was front row in general admission show and I think the tickets were around $10. My friend took pictures and smoked a blunt right in front of Prince. We were about 10 feet away and I was amazed. I couldnt stop looking at Dez's hair. Prince sang Happy Birthday to Big Chick.

1986 Parade at Madison Square Garden for which he had to cut short because he twisted his ankle, Yet still it was worth the whole 45 min. I got to see him 3 more times and he definetely made up for it at the Musicology concert. What am I supposed 2 do when the President can't get nothin' passed?

1986 - Parade Tour - London, Wembley Arena - first night crap seats, second night - 4th row, totally bloody amazing. He came out to the gates out back for a brief moment and I gave him a soft toy that was like a white dove. He carried it into the back door with him and I saw it in the car later on in the night. Met a guy who knew where the aftershow was and we headed off to Heaven (name of club) and met him out back, for a brief brief moment until Gilbert pushed him into the car. We then hot footed it back to the Mayfair Hotel where he was staying and saw him again, he laughed and pointed and said "how'dy'all get here so fast!"
Was a "fan" way before this but after seeing him in the flesh I became obsessed. He hadn't been to London since 1981 and I was a tad young for concerts then 13 or so, so this was my first oppotunity. So when Sign O The Times hit and no London Dates heading over the Europe was never a question, it just had to be done. And so began the rollercoaster of ride of my life. This story is how it all really began. I should write a bloody book with the number of stories I have to share!! In the distance a light shines and I know it is mine. Someday I will touch it because it calls me. It says cross the line, cross the line. I know everything is not always what it seems, so I pinch myself daily just in case it's a dream

I can't believe I waited so long to see a Prince concert. I dind't know what I was missing. Amazing that you found yourself doing that, huh? Do not feel bad...there is much more ahead and the beauty is...we can catch up! There is music to be heard...and maybe even more multi-city (us) concerts! The saddest part about my comment is that I was fan since 1984 (I was only 14 yrs. old then) and Purple Rain. I actually did have tickets to a samll venue concert here in Philly AND LOST THEM! God damn, I was steaming mad over that. Now whenever I buy tickets to ANYHTING I guard them with my life. I'm going to see Alaicia keys & John Legend next week - those bad boys are locked away.

Rumor had it that the Time were pulled off of that show because Prince didn't wanted to be upstaged at his big NYC gig (All the Critics Love U in New York ? I guess he didn't want to test that theory LOL )
Eddie murphy was sitting a couple of rows in front of me After our Triple threat tour experience, my brother said The Time's band kicked ass all over Prince's. They were tight. That rumor may be true. Triple Threat tour Dec 13 or 16 in 81 or 82. not exactly sure of the exact date but i do know your bro is right the time kick ass all over prince. prince was awesome especially when the bed came up from behind the stage and he start humping it during ILVR. The Time was the bomb and Vanity 6 looked great but Sucked a fat one. Other than that i've seen Emancipation tour and Musicology. [Edited 3/31/05 18:36pm]

Wow you guys are young.
My first Prince concert was in April 1993 @ Chicago Theatre I can't remember the exact dates of all the others and I don't feel like getting my stubs but off the top of my head: 1. April 1993 @ Chicago Theatre (Symbol Album/Diamonds & Pearls) 2. Summer 1997 @ United Center, Chicago, (Emancipation) 3. Spring 1998 @ The Vic, Chicago (with Chaka Khan and Larry Graham) 4. Winter 1999 @ Riviera, Chicago (Hit-N-Run) 5. Winter 1999 @ Metro, Chicago (Hit-N-Run aftershow with Common and Macy Gray) 6. Spring 2000 @ Park West Chicago (NPG Music Club) 7. Spring 2002 @ Chicago Theatre (One Night Alone) 8. Summer 2004 @ All State Arena, Chicago (Musicology) 9. Summer 2004 @ All State Arena, Chicago (Musicology) 10. Summer 2004 @ House of Blues, Chicago (Musicology aftershow) Okay that's it. perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...

I don't doubt that the Time as a band were better than the Revolution, because talent-wise, the Revolution was Prince's weakest band. Musically there were not as talented as his later bands. A lot of casual, non-music fans lament that the Revolution didn't last longer, but they would have stifled Prince's growth musically. perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...

Easter Sunday 1993 Act One Tour in SF. I missed the DNA Aftershow, but had about 10th row center seats. Sheila E's sister (Zina?) had the seat next to me. I remember because during Gett Off, she was grinding on me, which was a bit troubling because my girlfriend at the time was on the opposite side of me.
I didn't know who the girl was at the time, she wore a white head dress thing. My friend who was sitting in the row behind me told me who she was as we left the show. I remember not believing I was actually seeing Prince at first, because of the Police-Chain mask he started out with. [Edited 4/23/05 13:22pm]
