It's not about age. Age is really just a number. It's your state of mind. Hell, in many ways, I'm younger than I was when I was a teenager. Wisdom and youth is a hella combination, and that's what I have right now. So, let's have it. What was your first P show? SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. The first time I saw him was in 79 I think at the cirlce star theatre, I remeber seeing him he was all alone surrounded by keyboards. No band. Opening for someone- don't even remember who it was. He was so little and fine, came out from under Big chick's coat, he walked down the aisle we were sitting next to. My friends mom took us to the show, we had seen him earlier that day signing autographs at Leopolds in either Oakland or Berkley. Damn I am old I can't remember the details.
I miss the days when P would just hang out in the bay area, we could go to Oakland or San francisco and see him shopping. Not a good idea to exaggerate on a site where we all have all the reference material right on our desk.
It would be nice to find out specific dates and times of the shows I have seen. Like I don't remember if the Controvery show I saw was at the Warfield in San Francisco in 81 or 82? I know I saw him in 83 at the Oakland coliseum but was it March or April--it was Good Friday I do know that. Purple Rain was in March 85 because he hit himself in the face with the mic on the grammies the night before. yeah I guess I am getting old it is all just a blur now he's been an integral part of my life for sooo long. I'm still bitter that I had 2 miss that show bcuz I had 2 work at my life-sucking job (at the time). I heard it was good though... It was excellent. The crowd and the music was just so hot. Everyone left the place just talking about how great it was. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that | |
