Just out of curiousity, I ask this question. Mine was on the Controversy Tour, Feb, 1982, Long Beach Arena, Ca.

Lovesexy, Cap Centre, October 25, 1988, during the height of my Prince fandom. I'm glad I saw him before the end of the Golden Age.

i'm way jealous of you both! mine was the first musicology show in L.A.

first time ever seeing him live: at the npgmc launch party, march 2001.
first time at an actual concert of his: the hit & run tour in st. paul later on in the same year.

The 1999 Tour. Prince toured like crazy back in those days. He gave 2 shows a night for seven days straight in Detroit.

A still impressive 6 shows in 4 days.

He also played 7 concerts in 9 days in Detroit to kick of the Purple Rain tour.

Halloween Night - 1997 Jam of the Year Tour in Mobile, Alabama. One fothe BEST shows I have ever seen anyone do. A very magical night. I saw a second stop on that same tour in New Orleans in January, 1998, and then saw the Musicology Tour in Biloxi, MS.

Aug. 1997 Jam of the Year Tour, Lakewood Amphitheatre(now Hi-fi Buys Amphitheatre) in Atlanta, GA. I was 19 and that show changed me from a casual fan to a die-hard.

I'm sorry. I typed Long Beach when I should have typed Santa Monica. In the back of my mind I was also thinking of other early Prince concerts I had attended and Long Beach was one of them. But not on the Controversy tour but the 1999 tour in 83.

he's never done a show in my hometown...he's done a couple shows in my home state when i still lived there but my folks couldn't afford to buy tix and take me to whichever town he played.

nope. the only places outside of des moines i'd been to when i was still in iowa was the usual spots, like altoona for whenever i'd go to adventureland. other than that i stayed mostly in the des moines area.
