you've prolly heard about it....maybe thru somebody who knows somebody who knows somebody else. i had always been told that a party at this man's house could go on allll nite long...shit, the last party of his at house of blues had me rockin till 7am, so i shoulda known what 2 expect, right? wrong...once again, my mind was completely blown!

if u know anything about me & d'leau u know that we are H.U.G.E fuckin Prince fans, and a dream come true would be to party with him. well, the dream finally made itself a reality on saturday nite. thanks 2 the cutest couple on erf (yay, ahmir & nancy!), we were granted privelege to not only party in the Purple Man's house (till almost 6am...geez, the man is a fuckin riot), but witness one amazing jam session!

from the beginning...

*we hit the Rock&Republic fashion show for a while, took advantage of the open bar, met a few folks, kissed a few cheeks, and blah blah blah. cool lil event, i must say...the clothes looked great and the place was packed fulla cool folks. *ring ring* ahmir wants us to meet them at Hollywood&Highland for the image awards after-party.

*we jet there, hang in the v.i.p for a bit (which was funny because we're surrounded by tons of affluent black actors/actresses/musicians/intellectuals, all of whom are dressed to the 9's in their ball gowns and suits, and here we come, the 2 lil lone punks with our tapered jeans, leather pants, gold sequined pumps, and mohawks...fish outta water, but cool nonetheless)...the funniest part: i'm sittin there, lookin around, choppin it up with nance and all of a sudden my plastic pearl necklace snaps off my neck and pearls spill all over the floor. real cool look (not!) but who cares, right? nobody slipped and fell, so it wasn't that bad...but it sho was funny!

*finally, it's time 2 leave and head to the last stop of the nite...3121 ***** rd...we climb all the way to the top of the erf, the big black gates open, and there stands the home of mr.foryouprincedirtymindcontroversy1999purplerainaroundtheworldinnadayparadesignothetimeslovesexythelistcontinues2goon&on....

as soon as we get out of the car, we're ushered into the photo booth, where we take 2 sets of photos (1 for us, 1 for the host...we look real silly), and then we enter the house to a large crowd of dancin black folks and a rockin live band (prince alternating between the keys and his guitars)...as soon as we hit the living room, i see a couple gettin' down...i mean, they were groovin, the man's afro was just swayin and the lady had a mean dip in her hip. turned out to be cornel west...had to shake the man's hand, he was super cool. we walk around, get some drinks, take a seat on some steps right next to prince, who's rockin the keys...then ?uesto hops on one drum set...sheila's on another...all of a sudden, prince steps back from the keys and in walks someone named stevie wonder...damn! that dude sure can play the fuckin keyboard AND sing his ass off! amazing shit, right in front of our eyes...the band rocked it forever, people partied hard, mingled, and had a blast. then, around 5:30 we realized the sun was almost high in the sky, so we made our way back to reality, and went home to dream about it all over again.

I thought it was pretty cool that some noncelebs got to go. I guess you need to find a musician or celeb to hook it up for you who is invited.
