when did the world forgot that prionce is a guitar player many times we discussed prince's tehniq on guitar,
we never discussed when did the world forgot one of the greatests axe players in the world. i mean prince was displayed with his guitar in 1984 when purple rain come out. i was only three years old when purple rain come out. so i dont know the story. was the world raving about prince's guitar in that period? when did people forgopt he is a guitar player? i know many times ppl dont even know he plays guitar at all. | |

not entirely true. after all, i saw prince six times last year, and at each show, he had a git-fiddle in his hands the majority of the time, and the highlight of that tour for most folks was his solo 'unplugged' set with just him and his guitar.
if anything, it could be said that prince is neglecting the keys these days - he hardly touched the keyboards on the last tour, and he's replaced most of his synth arrangements with horns. that's kind of a bummer, though i can't say i miss his live piano medleys. | |

Sometime during the Symbol years, I think. The majority of the population knew him "as that freaky femme dude who can't figure out what his name is".
It was too easy for people to focus on the strangeness and forget there's genuine talent buried unerneath it all, and I think a lot of that was self-inflicted.
