He's one of the tightest drummers out there, is down 2 earth, knows music, is from Philly, he's from one of the greatest hip-hop groups ever, and he loves Prince (and isn't afraid to express this).
It's nothing more than pure unadulterated hate just for the sake of hating. Blame it on the slang, blame it on the "cryptic" nature of the post, blame it on the boogie... It's nothing but pure hate. ... and maybe a 'lil jealousy too. ..... yeah, it is a little bit of all of those things. but mostly, it's questlove's illiteracy. What is it about the passage above (or any other example) that makes him so incoherent? Is it the fact that he's a hip-hop artist and there's no possible way he could be perceived as intelligent and a credible musician? Please enlighten me. [Edited 3/21/05 8:25am]

[Edited 3/21/05 8:25am] The irony here is that he actually gives quite a bit of info. I don't know why a stylistic form of expression is viewed as 'illiterate'. His writings, like thoughts, are lateral, which I appreciate as a musician, and as a lateral thinker. He writes creatively, and it's far from 'illiterate'. "He's a musician's musician..."

This has been one of the most informative reports from one of these 3121 events. When NPGMC gives out the exclusive from one "VB" it's nothing more than a bunch of celebrity name dropping. This is one of the few reports (along with Jseven's) that actually gave me the impression that something funky happened. It's really ironic that ?uestlove himself will report these experiences on his own site and Prince doesn't. But I guess that's what you have to expect from an illiterate morons who can't use straight-forward english

Forgive me for my ignorance, but what is "3121"? Is that his address in L.A. or something? Is this going to be his new project, i.e. video or recordings of his gigs at his house? I've been out of the loop for a minute so someone please catch me up. Thanks

I feel like I have to apologize because I was the first to post that I don't understand what he's saying, a couple of post later this is on the verge of becoming another slam fest.
In fact, I DO understand what he's saying. I just wrote it because the language IS kind of odd. Tongue-in-cheek.

Prince, I know how to behave in someone else's house. Invite me to the Pink Palace the next time you throw a shindig in the early morning hours.

So it was intended for morons that can't speak English? If so then I consider myself lucky it was not intended for me. I don't understand why so-called fans approaching middle age cannot find the wisdom of accepting there are different ways of expressing yourself than using the Queen's English as defined by the Oxford dictionary, especially in light of the whole hip hop/text messaging post Princebonic culture. For one thing, Prince is not a moron and has been expressing himself this way for many years. I don't feel a need to use this kind of English, but why be so harsh on those who do, especially in a message board setting?

That said, I still stand by my wish that somebody that has a grasp of how to communicate will write a report of the party so "us folks that it's not intended for" can know what happened. Apparently my post wasn't intended for you to read either.

Quest was ok with me the only thing i don't understand or agree with him about is his endorsement of Joss Stone. the only thing i would say to people who don't understand his post would be u need to know the songs he's referencing cause it just seems he's describing the different songs he was playing on the drums and i wish i heard him playing cloreen baconskin to housequake cause that must have been the sh@t!
