The Album is definitely at the bottom of my favourite Prince album, but 'paisely park' is one of the few songs I like on the album.

That is one of my favorite songs as well....brings back memories of 1985, playing basketball and listening to some old mixed tapes.
Paisley Park immediately became my favorite song on the album, at that time followed by Raspberry Beret.
I like the songwriting and the characters in that song and the uplifting message behind that song and the slowly grinding guitar. I was in total awe and amazement when he played it at the Celebration, the tongue-in-cheek Democrats and Republicans comment is also cool.
I love the 12" version with the seagulls, they remind of my hometown..it´s part of my workout mix so I get to listen to it on a regular basis.
Beautiful song.

Can anyone describe the cover of the 12"? I thought I had all the extended singles from that album, but I don't remember any seagulls....
I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, keep me here.

12" includes 6:53 remix of Paisley Park and the short version of She's Always In My Hair.

This was my first prince album and as has been stated previously, really struck a chord with me(no pun intended). Paisley Park was my favorite after the first play. Its lyrics invoke hope in times of sorrow and the Paisley Park description I think speaks to a lot of Prince fans if not all in that we view ourselves as being outside the mainstream and it's always nice to have a place to go. Love it to this day!
