I dunno the first time, but I remember running home from school every afternoon and watching this TV show that came on around 3:30 that played the top 10 videos (not MTV). "When Doves Cry" was number 1 for a long time and I remember watching it several times. Does anyone else remember that show?

i was watching the movie purple rain staring prince and the revolution....then i was watching the part when prince was riding his motor cycle

i remember exactly where i wuz.
i was 18 or 19 and i was at school (art institute) and this guy who worked at a record store asked if i had heard the new prince song and i said no,
he took me out to his car and played it for me and i went crazy. so crazy in fact that since i had no money, i traded my parliment funkadelic mothership double album for a copy of the purple rain album.

that's how excited and stupid i was at the time. years later i lost or someone stole my purple rain album and i gave up a classic hard to find p funk album cause i was to young to know any better.

i did love my purple rain album though. i was in heaven.
