Right Now
Strays of the World the long version with kicks ass guitar from the Tweakin Series Vol 2 . Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Damn, sometimes being a Prince fan is so hard.
One of my favorite jams, the Prince & The Revolution jam called Databank, later reworked for The Time is circulating in many forms and speeds... When I kind of finished collecting (by getting all the outtakes in ONE sweep), the version of Databank I got was nothing like the version I got used to. Remember when back in 1987 Joy I Repetition circulated but in a speeded up version for what was released on Graffity Bridge? It is the same with Or $ and Databank. They were recorded with Prince's voice speeded (sped?) up. So if you play it on 33RPM Prince's voice sounds 'normal, but the music slow and when you play it on 45RPM the music sounds 'normal', but his voice sounds like what we are now used to as his 'Camille'-voice. The best version of Databank I have is SUPERB quality, includes the original intro and the extended part missing from the 1987 bootleg tapes. But it is too slow! So right now I am editing with an editing program... What a work to get it the right speed, hehehe. But now I have it I am playing it on the right speed...and on repeat. This song to me just is the most funky song Prince ever played on record, even beyong La, La, La, He, He, Hee and the Mothership Version of Soul Psychodelicide.... and that is saying sumthing...

Prince's unreleased version of the song released on Mavis Staples' 1989 album, Time Waits For No One. This version was intended for the aborted Dream Factory album. love it! Some people are like Slinkies...
They're good for nothing but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.
