I have a copy of the clean version of that album.Tony's cuss words are removed from "My Name Is Prince",and on the song "Sexy MF",the word "motherfucker" is replaced with Prince's tradmark "Aaaoowwhhh".It sounds kinda silly.

"come here baby...yeah....you sexy mother Aaaoowwwhhhh"

lol

IMO - Editing lyrics is a BIG NO! disbelief it takes all the bite or aggresion out of songs as they are originally intended, otherwise he wouldnt have sung it in the first place. SEXY whoopsa-daisey, dosent quite work.

also P should appreciate this even in his current mood of cult religiousness. dove peace

The only place I saw the "Clean Version" of prince was at wal-mart. ALL of their music is edited for content... but, The radio version of My Name Is Prince actually is more fun than the album/Cd version. (IMHO)
lol

i don't see why people have the tendency to think this. a song's a song, forget about dependin on language to make the song seem "whole".

I agree with you 100%. I would never buy a "clean" version of a cd or song. I want it in it's original format. Granted, I'm careful not to play SexyMF when my mother is over lol

dont get me wrong i do hate majority of edited version of songs, find them pointless to my self personally i mean who wants blanks in their tracks. but the screaming replacing the words mutherfucker actually sound better to me, maybe i just love his yells to much.. sometimes artist go out their way to replace the words so they have two versions of a song which is cool, like Tupac did with the song I aint mad at cha.

Nah, Target used to do this back in the day, too. A friend of mine picked up prince at Target when it first came out, and I got mine from Musicland. She was all kinds of pissed off that she got that squelch instead of mutha fucka.

I don't know. Some artists you want the CLEAN version of their albums or your ears begin to bleed. But then others, if they cursing and it makes sense, then leave it be. I was so mad when I bought the last OUTkast cd to discover that all of Andre's tracks were blurped. doh!

If I'd never heard the cursing in the first place, I'd be cool with a clean version. Can't miss what you never had, and all, you know. However, I've heard the original and if I got a copy of it all cleaned up, I'd be one sexy MAD motherfucker, and would take it back, post-haste, cursing all the damn way!
