SUPERCUTE so what do you guys think of the song "supercute"? i think it's a great tune. somewhere in the middle of the late 90s Prince and the Prince that was to come with "The Rainbow Children". it sounds a lot warmer and more organic than a lot of the other efforts of around that time and just before. plus, the lyrics, they're different from most songs and are more Prince-y than a lot of other stuff released at the time. especially the part of the vibrator is risque up to about as far as he can go without having to censor himself lol. to go short: I love this song She arrived on a 74 About 20 to 11 She comes to see him, him as in me She comes to see And it's never complicated Other women cannot fade it Whenever I call She gets dressed up and all Supercute CHORUS Maybe it's cause she comes from East L.A. But every time I see her body on display I gotta call her name from the DJ booth Strobe light flash and you know the truth Baby got game, she'll take your loot Keys to the crib with no dispute See her dancing in her birthday suit - Supercute Together we wonder how we got enslaved and why (It's time to get freedom for our people) Jericho falls when we all discern the lie Yo, why the man wanna lie? I look at her eyes go wild, she smiles - Supercute CHORUS On a dare I wanna see if she will share The kinda toys she uses when I'm not there None at all she swears I don't care (I don't care ) I make her buy another one And a new dress to wear (vibrator noise) Goes the toy against her curly hair Now she must confess How she really like to play Or if she don't, I lower the speed And bad words she'll say Tell me how you play, how you play Even in her anger she's still Supercute CHORUS Shake it around When you see her dancing in her birthday suit - Supercute I want more new music from the npgmc now and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

What do you think about Vavoom? Have rediscovered that one lately as well.

I fucking hate this song. It sounds like Prince doing cheap hip hop again. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

What's so "hip hop" about it? It's a flawless pop song, IMO. Nothing more, nothing less.

BTW, "When I lay my hands on u" is great, too! Some nice stuff on "The Chocolate Invasion", actually.

it doesn't sound like hip hop to me at all. this song is all about those guitar flourishes that run all the way through it. and the nice vocal harmonies and clever lyrics. i compare it more to "when i lay my hands on u" and some of the other more princely songs than i would to hiphop lyte.. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

it's a good car songs, yes. It's an excellent friving song I co-sign. Yet, the entire Chocolate Invasion album is off the chain! The Dance, Underneath the Cream, Supercute, Judas Smile, When Eye Lay My Hands, Vavoom, High, it keeps goin. Awesome little known treat from Prince. Albums like this are what makes him great, because no one knows about it. He could dominate the 'industry' and not write a single word or pick up a guitar pik. [Edited 3/15/05 15:11pm] Blue

"The Dance" is credited to Prince on the chocolate invasion yet it was written during the emancipation sessions by I'm not trying to "start" anything either, but i think that the differences in sound and composing between Prince & are quite obvious. He got tired with the whole thing. Once the time had come to go back to Prince, he wanted the best songs to be released under the "Prince" moniker and no longer under the guise of and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Yeah, I like this cool little ditty, but there was such varying quality around this time, if I remember correctly.
This cut and 2045 - Radical Man are great! But then you also had "High" (just plain awful) and My Medallion - I really couldn't get on with those at all ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

brilliant observation.... kind of like Tick Tick Bang, or The unreleased Glam SLam '91.... Supercute is a gem. A solid prince "single" type of song. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid
