--from the rolling stone interview, 1981 ...kinda odd, cuz whenever someone here does a thread like this and wants to know our opinions about whatever prince says, most of the time folks recite lyrics from his songs. i'm more on what he's actually said, not sang. Most people only have access to him through his songs, that's why they quote his lyrics. The ones that I posted... well, the one from Wherever U Go, Whatever U Do... have meaning to me. I was in a down spot in 2000, and this song lifted me up. Lyrics that Prince wrote are what he said. Thank U _________________________________________

you don't get where i'm gettin at. here is the first line of the original post. I am only showing it again so that you will understand why people are reciting lyrics.... What was one thing Prince said that really connected with you and made you think? Either in one of his lyrics or a quote from an interview or just anything?
So, I did get what you were saying, but I doesn't matter what you or I think. If someone gets more from lyrics than you, it don't make em wrong. Thank U _________________________________________

Errr....
I don't feel that the message is that one should be monogamous, but that u may have everything (as he did) and YET not be happy! Like a big emptiness inside the soul. I don't understand why he's so shy about being interviewed. I read somewhere that he doesn't like the sound of his speaking voice, but I've always loved to hear him drop words of wisdom & weirdness, how about U? If you wanna get higher, ya gotta get DEEP! | |

His cryptic sayings used to get on my nerves. But now I love it when he says something and makes you think. More people should do that actually. People now a days talk to adults like little babies. They leave nothing to the imagination.Prince wants you to figure things out for youself. I respect that about him. I just think he hates being interviewed because it gets tedious awnsering the same question over and over again. He would rather communicate through songs and poetry-not interviews. | |
