Prince's best non-singles

Prince is highly known for his hot singles(Purple Rain,Kiss,Little Red Corvette), but his also got alot of non-singles.

Non-singles being the ones that don't have any videos an dnever received heavy rotation on radio stations.

These would be the songs you might here in your car on a Friday afternoon while the DJ spins some mixes up. Songs would be like theses

Adore
D.M.S.R.
Lady Cab Driver

All good and liked but never releaxed as singles or got regular rotation on radio.
Ou of these non-singles name the best of them.
Working up a purple sweat.

D.M.S.R. featured on a single.

I think Prince's best non-single of all time is easily The Beautiful Ones.

I'm almost convinced this song would've been an easy #1 hit for him.

Prince has made many videos for tracks that weren't singles.
There have been several singles that never had videos.
There's been several tracks intended for single release that were not released.
There's been a few promos made of these tracks too.
Also, the definition of what counts as a 'single' is blurred too
(particularly in the US, where airplay counts)

Call My Name was a single and a video. The single stayed in the top 100 for quite a while but around the lower portion of the list.

DMSR was released as a single? I thought that 1999,Little Red Corvette,Delerious and Let's Pretend Were Married were the only singles released on 1999.

it was released in the u.k. as a promo single--from the oh-so-helpful sleevographia site:

The UK DMSR 190g Promo 12” is one of the rarest official promo on the planet. From the original batch of 200, it is believed only 24 remain. Back in 1982 WEA released a single disc version of the 1999 album in the UK, and various other destinations outside of the USA, fearing the public would not accept the full two disc set. After excellent critical reviews, USA success, and a potential European tour (which was aborted in favour of making Purple Rain movie), WEA decided to allow the release of the full double album in 1983. WEA UK took the unusual step to print a small run of UK only promos of DMSR, the track missing on the original single release, and at the time, featuring in the new Tom Cruise movie, Risky Business. The result was 200 superior heavy duty vinyl promos (SAM 172) which were sent to radio stations across the country. Some of the larger stations also received promo T-shirts, with the same black and white artwork.

also, it was released as a b-side to this u.k. single.
