How many have "Prince Unauthorized"

Is it any good? What does it cover?
Who do they talk to?
Was it ever on TV?
What would you rate it?
***** Five being best!
We all want a big hit again because
we want to relive the Hysteria & Pandemonium we experienced
when Purple Rain was Hot. Actually, he doesn't care if it happens again or not.

Just a few stills of P. no real information.

Is this the VHS video. My dad saw this in the bargain bin for £5 here in England and got it for me. I have only watched it once but some bits were interesting. I think it has an interview with Chris Moon, who seemes a "thoroughly bloody nice bloke", also someone whose name escapes me who originally signed Prince and had the original demo tape in his possession but refuses to let the makers of the video listen to it (or am I getting confused with another doc). There was another fella who seemed to be connected to either Prince or Pepe Willie (who is also on the vid) who came across a little bitter because Prince had forgotten him. There is one clip of him plus two others standing outside 1st Avenue (I think) recalling Prince's first infamous performance in front of the Warner Bros Record Execs. This guy seemed to have an air of glee about him as he recalls Prince falling flat at his first attempt. Anyone remember who this guy was?

2 or 3 out of 5, quite cheaply made but some interesting interviews.
Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

I have this video. It covers the period from Prince's trying to break in the business to the "Purple Rain" movie and album. You are shown the house he lived in with Andre Cymone and other places Prince hung out. It wasn't exactly upbeat or filled with interesting tidbits. Prince's cousin spoke about the early onset of alienation Prince experienced in his career. (given the star treatment by boyhood friends, etc)This was a bit sad...I'd rate this video a 3.

I think I'd give it a three. It was pretty much O.K, but I think they should've gotten some word from the Purple man, although it was 'unauthorized' or whatever. It shows the hospital Prince was born in, and has some inside info about how Prince started until he made it big, and how passionate he was in doing the music, and how many were so surprised on how talented he really was, as it also goes through some little detail about a down side on his rise to stardom, and how someone, (I think it was Prince's drummer before he became famous), was left behind by Prince for various reasons. It's pretty interesting to come to think of it. I should watch it again, I only saw it once. Don't go all out, or pay lots to get, either borrow it, and copy from someone, or just get it from half.com, and see it for yourself! biggrin
