It was a perfect example of the Minneapolis Sound, and was just "funky for no reason". Some have said that Stevie's new jam is an "OK" song, or Prince was "under-utilized", but for me it's just perfect, and very necessary in this era of sex, rims, and hip-hop beef. It just makes me feel good when I hear it! Kill me for being corny, but the release of SWTF has made my week.

It does sound like Prince, though he sounds unusually modest!
At the same time, this makes it very, very good. The best about the song is the way Stevie sings, that's really, really good!

Jungle Fever - not as Spiritual as the Grammy Winning 70's GOD inspired funk that we all love..... but still.... It's Stevie.
Take a pot shot at a catchy Stevie Wonder single that is funky and has Prince in his band? And we're not happy? SHAME ON US! ..... I like it Stevie! “Tuna, you better do something or else we gonna have to put you back in the can!”

The real garbage is the stupid crunk and gangster rap and non singing female whores. If you think this tune is garbage you lost your funk card or never had one and get off this make-up shit already. That's my problem with the song - not edgy enough, it's a real safe choice 4 adult contemporary radio airplay, but like Musicology, it's missing substance. It doesn't really take U anywhere special. With that said, it's still a nice alternative to the popular hip-hop r&b culture of the airwaves. I say bump it!

The good thing is that it´s no ´Disney duet´...I feared that a collaboration between them would be a cheesy ballad. This time, Prince appears as a guitar player! Yeah!

http://www.hitsdailydoubl...ormill.cgi “FUSS” A MUST: As expected, the first single from Stevie Wonder’s first new studio album in nearly a decade is causing quite a stir at radio. “So What the Fuss,” featuring Prince on guitar and En Vogue on backing vocals, bowed at #14 on the R&R/Mediabase Urban AC chart with a total of 457 spins, making it the chart’s highest debut and biggest increase ever. The track is receiving particularly strong support in major markets including Los Angeles, Chicago, Baltimore, Washington D.C. and San Francisco. Wonder’s new album, A Time to Love (Motown/Universal) is set for release on May 3.

Bob Moog has Bernie on his website. Stevie use to come to early P-Funk shows and take ideas from Bernie. If you don't believe me, you don't know P-Funk history. Yes the song sounds like a slowed down version of Knee Deep.
