Thank U - iTunes! I know this post should go in the now famous "you know you're a prince fan" thread, which is absolutely fantastic because I have done most of those things and more, but this is special and is no exception. I have been a fan since 1978. I have collected every possible commercial and non-commercial prince release in exsistence. I aquired a CD burner a few years back and transfered all of P's commercial 12" singles (A & B Sides) as well as other music that is not avaliable on CD. Now that I've discovered iTunes, I have imported the entire lot. What is intresting (to me), if you were to listen to his entire discography including,CD singles, it would take 1.9 days, 462 songs and you will need 3.4GB. In case you were wondering. Now the coolest part! I can listen to an entire ablum the way it was meant to be. Listening to 1999, ATWIAD, Purple Rain, etc., and including the extended versions and the b-sides is a BEAUTIFUL thing!!!
If I throw in the entire Andre Cymone, Jill Jones, W&L, The Time, Jesse, and all of the associated artists, that comes to, 602 songs 3.2 days, and you will 4.2 GB! I haven't slept in 36.2 hours!

Can somebody please post a list of what non-album P tracks are on offer at iTunes? You're confusing 'iTunes' w/'iTunes Music Store'. The 'iTunes Music Store' hardly has a good selection of prince stuff (mostly the same stuff you'd find at a Best Buy type store). The poster is speaking of ripping their entire collection into iTunes... -->> This Space 4 Rent <<--

My Prince-only collection of songs that I've ripped in iTunes is
732 songs 2 days, 12 hours, 16 minutes and 13 seconds 4.07 GB (all songs ripped as 192 kbps AAC files) ...not including any related artists. Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. More info at https://www.facebook.com/TMATSPodcast/

The entire released works of Prince (at 192) takes 7.9 Gb. Just right for a dual layer disc!
Bit of a sod if you are a Mac user and still using old single layer discs. .

Ah, thanks for the clarification I got a little excited there, since I've yet to rip my vinyl collection and probably won't for a very long time. Bit of a sod if you are a Mac user and still using old single layer discs. What are you talking about? I have the LaCie DUAL-LAYER 16x external burner for my Powerbook. It works great. Get your facts right. "So strange that no one stayed at the end of the Parade..." - Wendy & Lisa's "Song About" on their 1987 self-titled album.
