around the time of emancipation/crystal ball, i wrote back and forth a bit with someone who was sending a lot of stuff to fans via AOL (remember the teaser e-mails about the emancipation album? that stuff.). we didn't correspond a whole lot, but we wrote back and forth about some stuff from the oprah interview, and while it could have easily been someone close to P writing to me, based on the subject matter of the e-mails, i'm still pretty certain i was writing back and forth with ol' boy. it was cool, i don't think it's a huge, huge deal - i think at the time, P was enjoying his ability to chat with people online without having to be treated like some kind of exalted celebrity or something. i think he dug on the anonymity of it. but i also suspect he got burned by his frolicking - that, or he just got bored with it.

I've been getting secret emails from someone that says he's from The North Pole. He keeps telling me what a big toy he has for me. I don't know what he's talking about.

I wouldnt be surprised if hanging around places like the org was what contributed to the late 90's sub-standard output... Imagine listening to all the different opinions of hundreds and hundreds of people about your work, your private life and your ass. Then try and create something with a clear head whilst at the same time subconciously trying to please all these people that seem to worship the ground you work on!

Hopefully, if he was hanging around here he aint no more... It cant be good to get sucked into something like the org or housequake... It drives ME crazy at times, imagine how crazy it must drive you when the whole reason for the website is you and all everyone talks about is you!
