In fact, we used to judge Prince fans by "if" they knew the B-sides...
If you didn't, you were NOT a real fan....

You mean The B-Sides CD from '93? Yeah, that's a pretty damn good compilation, I play it all the time.
It's not perfect, but how can you complain with songs like Erotic City, 17 Days, & Another Lonely Christmas included? It's a great way to introduce a new person to Prince too. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

are you talking about the compilation from the WB anthology, are you talking about an 'unauthorized' comp of the tracks, or are you talking about the actual, bona fide, go to the wrecka stow and buy the suckas on wax B-SIDES?
back in the salad daze, i was at the wrecka stow on the day every new single was released...i remember getting the singles from Parade and SOTT in particular...now this was pre-internet and i totally can NOT remember how i knew when these singles would be coming out - i had no 'contacts' at the wrecka stow and i didn't have any prince freak buddies back then...but back then, the day a new prince single came out, i knew about it and i was there!

Speaking of Parade, does anyone know why "Love or Money"was not included on the B-sides compilation? larry luvlife

Actually, I am talking about both.. getting them from the Wrecka Stow AND the 1993 CD...
my sister is just now getting into Prince because I took her to Musicology and now she is ready for "The B Sides"... and yes.. "Love or Money" would have been great.....

How were the B-Sides packaged in the boxed set? Like did it get its own jewel case? I have the Hits 1 and 2 that I bought separatley a long time ago, when I didn't know the B-Sides were in the Set. I want that cd baaaad haha I always check Ebay but no.

the b-sides were only available with the boxed set, which was packaged in one of those clunky double-jewel boxes with hinges on both sides (like Emancipation was packaged in).

I first learned about B Sides when I bought the 12 Inch of "Let's Work" and heard the B Side "Gotta Stop (Messin' About)". I didn't realize at the time that it would be an ongoing thing with Prince though.
During those days, Prince would release a 45 about a month or month and a half before the album was released. When I bought "1999", the 45, the B Side was "How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore". Then the album came out and the B Side wasn't on it. After this, I knew to keep checking for new 45s and 12 Inches each time I visited the record store. Andy is a four letter word.
