Prince-still kinda rude...... I was watching a recent performance of DMSR. The line "wear lingerie to a restaraunt" has been replaced by "..get busy in the middle of a restaraunt". Now, is it me, or is having sex in a restaraunt more risque than wearing lingerie to it??
Also, if Prince is so "cleaned up" should his still be proclaiming "...I wish we all were nude..." ? "New Power slide...."

I always thought the line in controversy was more of a Biblical reference to the mythology of Adam & Eve - a return to innocence (nudity) - as opposed to actually wanting to get nekkid! Don't worry, I can't get pregnant - my ovaries are diseased......

Well, that would work for me if the song in question didn't come with an album carrying a poster of Prince in the shower. Biblical indeed! "New Power slide...."

If he cleaned it up completely I'd worry about the existence of his dick

A pervert til death. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

I always thought that "nude" was another double entendre(sp?) like the Nude tour of 1990.No frills,no excess just strait to the point. Not necessarily sexual in connotation. Also like in Elephants and Flowers with the reference to "strip down".Prince wants his listeners to come to their own conclusion on how to take certain lyrics. Cream's double meaning is another prime example.
It's sort of like Prince's way of saying "You say I have a dirty mind but you're the one that see's this as being something sexual(wink, wink)."

i wondered about his changing of that line in DMSR, too...i mean, in the '80s, lingerie became kind of an accepted piece of outerwear, thanks in part to him and thanks in part to madonna, and now i think it's really no big deal. i think "getting busy in the middle of a restaraunt" is far more risque. but hey...i guess he knows best.

I have been thinking that "get busy" meant to dance, not to have sex. Kinda like his "get busy" reference on the Days of Wild live single where he says something like, "You wanna get busy with your man up here? Come on!" Just a thought.
