Was everyone watching the same show I saw?! The guy who knelt before Prince DID NOT KISS HIS HAND! He placed P's hand to his forehead (like a knight would do a king). Even the pic on this thread shows it! I think people want to create more controversy than there is!

What controversy? Some people saw a bow, some saw a kiss. Either way, it was a sign of respect.

Some people earlier were asking "What's up with that?" as if there was some sort of funny business going on and not the sign of respect like you said.. Plus I like as much accuracy as possible when people are reporting events or facts... I was getting the play by play on the oscars last night on the Org because I was at work.... When I came home to watch the show on Tivo, No kiss, just people's exaggerations.

I get what you mean. I thought it was a kiss at first, but in hindsight I guess it was just a bow. A kiss would've been cute though, I think.

Jim Bogios

David Immerglück

"Al Otro Lado Del Río" - DON'T ASK! lol This tripped me up! I think it's my attempt @ an authentic sounding Spanish pronounciation pout

i was able to read through them out loud myself without stumbling, but i wasn't in front of a crowd trying to keep up my image etc. of course, i admit i was operating without the benefit of your superior wisdom there, handz.

tell us, oh great one, oh moderator of the ORG, with thousands of hours spent here to edify and improve yourself: how would you pronounce the following names?

Bogios, Immerglück, Coulais and Barratier. smile

bo-zshee-os, immer-glook (got that umlaut above the 'u' there), coo-lay, barrah-tee-yey. not hard, if you know your basic foreign pronunciations.

What's so tough about Immerglück? But then again it's in my mother language, so...

BTW, where's the report from Prince's party? There was one and he did play, so I want a report. And I don't care if it's a fake one from a chick from Hungary, just gimme some to read.

Am I the only one who noticed something peculiar???

After one of Beyonce's performances, Jay-Z stood up. Right after, the camera shot to Prince, who looked VERY uncomfortable and almost, dare I say it, jealous? of Jay-Z?????

I swear that's what I saw.

lol Naw, I think you might be imagining that. I just thought he looked bored.

You should have seen the german commentator at the oscars, Anke Engelke. Apparentally, she's a big fan and seemed to have a little crush on him.

"Oh, that voice! Put a little music beneath it and it's already a song...."

"Oh, he stumbled over the names! How sweet! No one stumbles over names so sweetly..."

Don't any of you find it odd that the man was married to a Hispanic woman for three years and didn't pick up any spanish? I, too, was amused by the presentation and felt a little sorry for him that he had that of all categories to present. But, in the end, he still managed to laugh at himself. And I loved the tux 'til I saw the white pants. Either he should have worn a white tux or a black tux.

Not really, considering his hispanic wife lived in Germany for what 6 years and can't speak German. And this is according to the native German speaking concert goers attending a concert during one of the tours in the early to mid90's. She came on stage and mangled their language lol (Act II or Gold tour maybe)
