I HATE this song. One of the biggest piles of poop Prince ever wrote. Everytime I play the Hits 2, I always skip this song. Even when I try to give it a chance, I go to the next song halfway through it.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I think it sucks. Really lame rapping.

The song (if it can be called that) is complete trash.

How the fuck did it get on a greatest hits CD?

It's dumb, the lyrics are crap, and the rapping is weak. That being said, I do like the song. shrug

The production values of the song save it from me; sure it's dated, and it was never a groundbreaking cut, but there's life in the song. Had it been on Emancipation, NPS, or Rave, he would've killed it with that drum machine/cheap keyboard shit. It would've been stilted and derivative.

...the lyrics are so dumb that I almost get a perverse thrill out of 'em. "Dippy dippy dope"? lol

Ditto. But then, I like:

The Pope
Jughead
Wedding Feast
Courtin' Time
Work That Fat

and all those other similar funny songs.....

(why do people keep their sense of humor when, Picasso or the Beatles, for example, screw around, but with Prince everyone's serious and it's always gotta be "genius"...)

I don't see what these songs have to do with each other...? "Courtin' Time" is "a funny song" because it's swing?
