Gear Heads....Rhodes piano

For the Prince gear heads on the org...
I'm figuring several of you have seen the ONA show and wondered if you noticed the custom Rhodes P is playing (similar in style to the custom B3 Hayes had) and wondered two things:

1.) What pedals do you think he's running it through?
I'm assuming a Boss Distortion, Tremolo and something
else, but not sure.

2.) Where do you think he had the thing made (I had the idea a couple years back and couldn't figure out how to execute it.)

Peace

Well I used to own a fender rhodes & mine had a built in tremelo. The distortion can be caused by overloading the signal to the amp but Ive never heard of someone using pedals on a fender rhodes. Ive seen some really old rhodes' that have a distorted sound to them, thats how Ray Chalres said he got his sound.

Not sure where its made though, anyone?

Hope this helps

Well, I'm assuming he does, it's the same piano used on Xenophobia, and on the inside of the ONA tourbook, there's a picture of the piano with a not so clear view of stompboxes next to it...

I hear ya on overloading the amp / the built in tremolo, etc. Just was trying to see if anybody could figure it out.

Mr. Hayes used distortion pedals. For proof, view the Jay Leno "Come On" performance.

Music should be heard in a theatre, not an arena. smile

I own and use an OLD SCHOOL Wurlitzer Electric Piano which has nothing more than a volume nob and a tremolo nob. I noticed that Tommy Barbarella used the same exact piano...

Just a note... and a brag... smile

I have two fender Rhodes pianos. 1972 and 1973.

I'm looking to sell the 1973.
One of the e-flat keys don't work. It's just the wire inside is broke where the hammer comes down on it. easy fix.

I put a 1975 guitar flange pedal on the one in the studio.

It's way cool of a sound.

Too bad I don't play that good.

I'm a drummer.

I know enought to jam with the other guys. They like it when I get all experimental with the equipment.

Need to start hitting the record button more often, cause there have been some great ideas come out of these jams.

Three professionals die and go to Heaven. St. Peter asks the first one, “So, how much money did you make last year?”
The first man responds, “I made $200,000. I am a trial lawyer and had a very successful year.”
“Wonderful,” said St. Pete, “you may enter Heaven.” St. Pete asks the second man, “How much money did you make last year?” He says, “$150,000. I’m in real estate, and really cleaned up.”
“That’s fantastic,” said St. Peter, “You may enter Heaven.” To the third man, he asks the same question, “How much money did you make last year?” The third man hung his had and said, “I only made $8,000.” St. Pete said, “Cool, what instrument do you play?”
