The way I see it is 1. I think there might be a rule that he can only present in the category that he has won. best orginal song. I might be wrong but I am sure that only previous winners can present any oscar. 2. Chris Rock always complained that there was no black people involved in the osccars and thats why in the past he has boycotted the show. So maybe to get Chris Rock to host, they offered a presenting job to Prince. At last but not least, don't be surprised if all he does is to introduce the Picture "Ray" again just like he did at the golden globes since we know he liked the movie and he loved jammie foxes protrayal of Ray Charles.....
well thats my 2 cents! daddypop EROTICCITYNPG said: http://www.noticias.info/asp/aspComunicados.asp?nid=49495&src=0

Isn't it weird that Prince has appeared on virtually every major award show this year EXCEPT for the Grammy's where he actually won something? Alright get off that boat about Prince not attending the Grammy's. When I look at the whole thing I'm glad he didn't. He probably didn't want to sit at no boring ass award show where he thought he wouldn't win. Maybe he thought the Grammy's would pull an India ire on him. Would you? Last year he performed, but after that he was nominated for N.E.W.S. and he didn't win. He sat through the shit last year. Prince hardly ever does anything twice. Ya'll should be used to that. He is appearing at more events because he finally got the message: If you stay secluded you don't get paid and nobody pays you any attention. If you get out here and promote yourself more and put yourself out there, people will listen and pay attention. Last February it was the Grammys, then Tavis Smiley, Ellen Degeneres, Jay Leno, and of course the greatest The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. All of that put Prince back in the spotlight and back to people who forgot all about him. It was just what he needed for his album and tour and he succeeded beautifully. So forget about the Grammy's for Christ sake. The main thing is that he won 2 Grammys, beat out Usher and he's attending the Academy Awards. Be happy for that.

I hadn't thought about that, but how funny would that be? "And the nominees for Best Actress are..." There was another thread speculating Prince would "screw-up" his momentum from this past year in 2005, but so far he seems to be laying the groundwork for something. Keeping his name in the papers and his face on TV. So maybe he's starting to ramp things up for "3121" or whatever the next project will be. Or maybe he's just enjoying being a celebrity for once. Who knows! It's all fun...
