Has anyone heard the new version of nasty girl( by Anaya something/one). It has just been released in Australia, it is on a dance compilation and it has been released as a single as well.

Basically a complete ripoff of the original, nothing new other than a bit of extra bass. If you like the original you will probably enjoy this.

I love telling all the younger guys digging the song that it's an old Prince song and just waiting for their reaction, and then telling them it's about 20 years old, just love it.

So any thoughts, or has anyone else heard it?

If it aint produced by Lil Jon, I don't care.

The single is actually number 2 on the Australian singles charts!!!!

It was actually number 1 for a week Prince has only ever had a few number 1's here before.

It's been around for a while now, I like it too. There's also a version of 'A Love Bizarre' by the same producer, under the name 'So Phat' - same kinda sound. Expect to see someone make a thread about that one too in 3 months time, thinking they're the first to hear it

What's really funny to see is inside the CD single liner notes, it credits the song as written by "Vanity"

It does the original justice, well as much as a cover can.

Yes, you are right, There are 2 "Nasty Girl" songs on the chart at the moment, both are very different from each other.

One is by NITTY. That one is very commercial, it sucks and Nitty has 'one hit wonder' written all over him, it sits at number 2 on the charts currently.

The other is by Inaya Day, which is the Vanity cover done in a house style. This sits at about number 21 at the moment, but it has got me wondering if it is selling well because it's a great song, or are dumb-arses confusing it with the Nitty "Nasty Girl"
