Where you in a Prince movie/video that is on DVD? Tell us about it... If you were in a Prince movie that is on DVD please post what DVD it was and the time of your scene(s) so we can find it. If you can, post a picture (is that ok?).
Here is mine (Nathan Wright): Get out your The Graffiti Bridge DVD. Go to 30:34 (Love Machine) and hit pause then use the slowmo. Look at the guy on the far left with his eye closed at the bar with the white turtle neck shirt and suit on (brown skinned). Then slow shuttly to 36:35 and he is facing camea with eye closed. Nice hair! Then go to the Shake Scene. 40:27 - 40:36 look at the tall guy in the far right top with the same outfit waving one arm around (camera pans from left to right). Morris Day seems to be looking his way as he walks through the crowd thinking "Oh lawd look at this fool" I don't know what dance I was doing. But it looks like I was riding a bull or something. Finally during Shake, this is a quick one (they all are...but hey by 5 seconds of fame?) so you have to go really slow with your dvd. Go to Shake at 42:46 the guy in the right top (not the black guy the one behind him). Same outfit as the other scenes. On vhs I knew I was there, but I could never freeze this scene to get a clear picture. But thankfully on DVD you can. What was I thinking with that hair? I remember seeing Prince for the first time. He was walking through the extra room (like a cafeteria) and you can hear his heels. Everyone in the whole extra room became quiet as he walked through with Gilbert his body gaurd. Very strong presence. They shot this out in New Hope, MN at a warehouse. I remember all the clubs from that movie were in each room right next to each other. "outside" scenes were shot at Paisly Park. I remember catching Jesse Johnson after he almost fell of the stage after shake. I know a lot of other stories I can share but maybe at a later date. We worked 12 hours and got paid $90.00. I know a lot of you who were in this movie and Purple Rain post here alot. Please share your thoughts on the movie you were in and your location. OMG...that is so cool. But Prince is the only one I would work 12 hours for 90.00. Thanks for sharing!
I have never been in one of his visual projects but I know two who have. I work with this one lady who was in the Gett Off video. She is sitting with Tommy Barberella on the right. And in 3 chains o' gold there is Joey who actually hired me at my first club. He used to be a bodygaurd for Prince. He is in that sceane when they are walking through the train station in Tokyo. I think he is also at the end walking with Prince when they go to talk to the Japennese buisness men. In that TV special the Ryde Divine he is sitting right behind Prince while they watch Carmen Electra sing Everybody Get on up. And he actually has a speeking sceame with Troy Beyer. Oh well, one day I hope I will have my own stories to share about Prince. But share more!! I love hearing Prince stories. Thanks again!

I remember Prince directing us during the Love Machine or Shake scenes. He said something like: "The camera is going the pan by you...ok? ok?" And then I would say, "yea." Then he said "I want you guys to have a lot of movement...ok...ok?" Then I would say, "yea." Then he said something else and looked at me and said, "got it?" I said, "yea." Then he walked away in his high heels. I thought later I must have had a dumb look on my face cause even though I was in a crowd he was talking to me specifically even point at me at the end to say, "you got it?" Prince was very cool. These rumours you heard at the time of him not wanting people to look at him were not true. He was always observing people. He was respectful and I remember him and Morris Day joking around. I was watching then I laughed with them. Then Morris just looked at me like...who are you? I continued to laugh cause even that was funny. We all use to go out to Prince aftershows. Basically that same crowd who was in the movie. There was about 20 or 30. We use to eat at Rudolphs with Prince after the bar closed then went out to Paisley. That was pretty routine. We never sat with Prince (cept' for the ladies) but we went there as a group. Kinda funny eh? There is a lot of other people who with much better stories about Prince. Please share. Is that place still there? Prince is a normal person just like all of us. He is just very talentend and I feel lucky to have hung out at one point in a time of my life with a muscian as talented as him.

Prince seems to be a very nice person he just seems to like to keep to himself alot which I totally understand. I wouldn't want people coming up to me trying to talk to me all the time it would get exausting. So he used to sit in the back with the ladies huh? I laughed when I read that!

I show up on the Vegas DVD at one point. During the 2nd chorus of "Take Me With U" you'll see a girl in a blue sweater miming the words "Take Me With U". At screen left you see the head of a girl in a blond wig bobbing in close up. If you pause and slow-mo forward, I peer out from behind her for about a second. Bearded guy with a black sweater on. My first on screen appearance! We weren't aware that the audience would even be filmed.
Vegas 2002 was one hell of a gig. If the three hour show wasn't enough he played for two more hours at the MGM where Cyndi Lauper and Nikka Costa guest starred!
