ok so for those of us who are not a member of P's club, we are probably a little out of touch with the new songs. so can anyone fill me in some titles. i kinda know how to get them but i don't know anything about these tracks.

"I kinda know how to get them". That was your line. So you're gonna steal them, while we true fans paid for them. You want titles? You can probably assemble them from other posts all throughout this site.

You only want titles to try to get them from AudioGalaxy or Kazaa, etc. People like you are going to kill the NPG Music Club.

I agree. But its kinda funny. When Warner paid Prince, we took whatever we could get, legal or not, hence bootlegs.

But now we pay subscription, we don't want other people sharing because thet are gaining off the "fans" money.

I agree with you there, SquirrelMeat. Filesharing is, in the huge majority of cases, illegal and some say, immoral. However, some fans decide that sharing mp3s that have either been a) released on CD or b)never been released at all is okay, but NPGMC files are sacred and should not be shared. Somewhere along the line, ALL filesharing is ripping someone off. It's hypocritical to suggest that any one form of it is more acceptable than another.

Nobody here has ever made a cassette tape of music for someone? Or taped somebody else's CD? Is that the same?

Hey, 100 blooming dollars is a lot of money for some. Think of how many people who would love to go see Prince on tour this month, but just don't have the money. Now we're saying you have to be of a certain economic status to be a fan? The only person who can ruin the NPG Music Club is Prince.

Not all filesharing people are enterprising pirates. Sometimes you wanna know what the big deal is about "Billy Jack Bitch" and you go download it. Big whoop. How many promo copies did Warner Brothers send out? It's not like money's gonna make like 500,000 copies and sell them next to the bootleg "Tweet" and "Ashanti" CDs in front of the Virgin Megastore (if someone can explain how these folk get away with that I'd appreciate it), so the loss is minimal. I haven't seen Prince do a video in quite some time, nor have I seen a fuill page print ad.

Point: The music has been the marketing tool all along. The web helps to that end.

We need to not get it twisted...I know personally I wasn't feeling Prince until I heard the bootlegs in the mid 80s. Hearing these "illegal copies" (of considerable sound quality, I might add...hmmm) made me save my funds to pay for a ticket and see him on tour. And THAT, at the end of the day, is what it's all for. Filesharing is a reality, and if that reality is gonna kill the NPGMC then I imagine the Leno appearance should have done the same.

Prince is filling venues across the country doing mostly new music...but only the first 15 rows are club members. So who are the rest? Probably folks with LIVES and BILLS to pay.

Also, when regarding the MP3 songs from the NPGMC: this would not be really "a copy" since there was never an original CD. So in essence you are stealing the actual product.

But my real point is this: by downloading ANY songs from the NPG Music Club illegally, then not only are you taking $100 away from Prince's organization, but you are also negating our investment as members.

I guess we could all just wait for them to surface on AudioGalaxy, but we took part in something with the NPGMC and want to see it succeed.

You list yourself as a "Hardcore" fan - why weren't you involved in Year One of the NPG Music Club?

As for being a cock: most of us paid for the club with our hard-earned money. We took a chance, and paid the $100 (which we KNEW was too much). This guy is trying to get the music free. I just wondered why he didn't join.
