It's a song about vaginas.
It's from the GEt Off maxi single. The theme is that Get Off represeted the Male Sexual Energy. Ganster Glam represented the Female--or vagina. However, Warners objected to its original title "Bearded Clam" so Prince chnaged bearded to "Gangster" and "Clam" to Glam. | |

Believe me, it all makes much more sense once you see the videos for these! I remember seeing part of "Violet the Organ Grinder" on Arsenio just before the Gett Off video was released -- it looked so awesome, along with the trippy lyrics -- I couldn't wait to get my hands on the video! My biggest fear is that the next time I eat clam chowder I'm gonna smell balls or Mac & Cheese---both would make me sick. | |
