This thread is utter cack.
Its almost as pointless as my What if Prince had a tail thread - but that was a cack joke - this is just plain irrelevent bollocks; summed up perfectly with some imaginatively-titled dude called jacktheimprovident saying: 'Prince is short, Hendrix was tall' Fuckin inspired. Anyways, what if Prince had tentacles and instead of going for a shit bubbles just flowed out of his ears? Would you still wanna be his lover? Plus neither can move like Prince, or play guitar as well as Prince does. I've never seen bowie's moves and stevie's blind give the man a break

Why people want to compare different people...
Prince is an amazing artist, a genius... The greatest artist of the last 25 years...Nothing to say... Bowie is so far more eclectic than Prince and less commercial.... Stevie is ... How can I say... the Messiah of american black Music...Nothing compares to him... His influence is everywhere... Every black artists are/were influenced by him.... Jimi Hendrix for Rock is what James Brown was for Soul music... [Edited 3/3/05 2:41am]

And while we're comparing. How about Prince to another Jimmy....Page that is. I think you could find some definite correlation. Page kicks ass by the way. I have always liked him more than hendrix. "Life is just a party and parties weren't meant to last"

Don't get me started on THAT one by the way. (see avatar) I can't compare Page to Prince though. SOOOOO different in my opinion. Page is my favorite, for many reasons. He can be very sloppy at times, but as a composer, producer, and just for being such a badass emotional, aggressive, expressive, and downright evil player, he holds me in awe. What a showman. He can be BRILLIANT when we wants to be. Prince is such a "clean" player compared to him, that I really can't compare. Page is the quintessential hard rock guitarist, next to Hendrix of course. On a side note, ever notice that the riff from Prince's "Calhoun Square" is the exact same as Zeppelin's "No Quarter"? Just a random rambling on my part.... But this is off-topic, so I'll now. [Edited 3/5/05 6:11am] I'll stick to the topic too. Some very good comments though. I think the biggest similarities would be in the pure attitude they both play with. I love Page in all of his rawness. That's part of what makes him one of the coolest guitarists to ever live. "Life is just a party and parties weren't meant to last"
