prince started playing chords ,
for purple rain during 1982 when the 1999 tour was going on.

wendy even wasn't in the band.

prince gave his backing band name because in that period of the 80-s most of the chart toppers were bands like van halen,bon jovi,deff lepard,motley crue...

even deaf men can hear that all albums during the time with the revoulution were pure prince.every lick,everything sounded like him.

i only can hear some minor orcestral parts that were probably conducted by "fabulous duo "wendy and lisa.
after he disbanded the revolution band,prince continued to make great music,sometime with more or less sucess.

today if he reunite with the revolution we would see old tired ppl trying to get funky,and magic would be gone if that happened.

and one think about his new band. maybe mike scott don't have carisma but prince don't need him anyway.

i always prefaired prince to be only guitar player in his bands.
you can't tell me that rhonda ,john ,candy,maceo,renato dont have carisma.

all shows i saw on video by the new baND LOOKED LIKE PRince and the band were realy having fun.
prince imporoves himself when he got skilled musicians around him.
listen to his great tight drumming on glass cutter.

listen to bass duo with rhonda on lets work.
or amazing peformance of shhh on hong kong rocks.
prince is living in the 2005 so it wont be bad if you do too."

1) not cool to repost comments that were moderated towards...if you wanted to be cool about it you could have asked the moderator in question if you could have reposted the content minus the content that had the thread locked up in the first place..

2) telling people to get a life is not a good way to start discussion of any sorts...if its about prince, wendy and lisa, mayte, larry graham, george w bush, the pope, your momma.....ot my momma...

3) not cool to make threats dude...think about the shit you post before you post it..expecially if your pissed, frustrated or upset..... soo not cool.....

I'm sure someone else could argue about their "influence"
his band today may be full of some awesome musicians
but were any other members of his band as influential as The Revolution?
