Prince's Jazziest Songs

Hey, for Music Class, I have to find some jazzy songs from a certain artist, so obviously I chose Prince. What are some of his jazziest songs, in your opinions?

Which version? The one off Girl 6 or the one off the Vault?

Mellow
The Rainbow Children
The Other Side Of The Pillow
Strollin'
The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker
2 Nigs United For West Compton
In A Large Room With No Light
Everywhere

The "Indianapolis EP" throughout. And his jazz albums ("N.E.W.S", Madhouse 8/16)

Other side of the pillow?
2 Nigs...?
Ouch! If RazzBeret took those to a jazz class as jazz the teacher would probably beckon his ass towards the door and tell him to take up pottery instead...

Personally I wouldnt have nominated Prince as my jazz class musician. Hes touched upon jazz but not very well in my opinion... NEWS? AAArrrgh! Rubbish!!! TRC? A couple of jazzy type songs but its not really a jazz album. I think the Vault probably has his most accomplished 'jazzy' outings...

The question here was for "jazzy" not "jazz". "The Other Side Of The Pillow" is a jazz-melody. You know, some jazz actually has a melody. And I was mainly referring to the ONA live version anyway.

"2 Nigs United 4 West Compton" is clearly 80s fusion-jazz, and as such is the closest thing Prince ever did to "real jazz" if you wanna look at it at those terms. On the other hand, why would you.

the vault

and if your thinking The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker
try look it up on a file sharing program
and see if you can get the version played at the
tonight show with jay leno, on may 4th 2001
very smooth jazzed up version of that song
with piano,drum & flute solos

Our opinions? Well...if I said "Endorphinmachine" and "I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man" - would you bring those?

I'm sorry, but you have to listen and decide for yourself what you think is "jazzy"!

Personally, I prefer not to speak in such terms, since they can't be defined other than subjectively.

Is there really something called the "Indianapolis EP"?? why would anyone name something after this boring town?
Doesn't it make you smile when you realize no one was there to see the stupid thing you just did?
