Are we that crazy?

I was listening to the news today, and they were discussing the MJ trial, and the travelling road show that it has become.

There was a woman who quit her job as a teacher, moved to L.A, and got a night job, so that she could go to the courthouse every day and hold up a sign in support of Jackson.

Now, I remember having people stare at us, when we were waiting on the curb all day for tickets to the ONA show....but at least we had Star Wars fanatics to point out. (See? They are crazier than us! We've been here 1 day, and they have been there for WEEKS!) lol

But my question is: Are we that crazy?

If Prince were involved in a court battle (I don't care about the type -- just a prolonged court battle, that we knew he would HAVE to show up to court for), how many of us would actually show up everyday to wave signs and wait for a glimpse of him? Would you quit your job? Relocate? Are we really sheep?

I can speak for myself and say -- if he ain't playing a concert in the parking lot, I ain't going! lol

Snap

I remember standing in line for hours to get on the list for an aftershow -- we were all chatting and having a good time -- and I thought we all looked like pretty cool people... but those Jackson fans... they're not normal! shake

Agreed nod

Me, personally, I would not quit school and relocate my family, but I would follow the case very closely.

naw i ain't crazy but if the court wasn't far away i might show up and ask to be his counsel. if allowed, i would take notes for him on issues he might win on appeal if convicted, i would pour his water and pass notes to his lead attorney on what might be a good cross examination of the state's witnesses. when court recessed, i would pull out my guitar and we would sing a stirring rendition of Electric Chair. but no i ain't crazy like those MJ fans.

The most I would do was catch it on the news. I would not wait outside a courthouse just to get a glimpse of him The crazy Jacko fans act as it's the Second Coming of Jesus. rolleyes
That just seems to border on the obssessive - scary!

What would be the point? Holding up a sign and chanting ain't gonna have any bearing on the facts in the case. Sometimes I wonder if people are doing these things more for themselves than for the person they claim to be supporting.

4 years I've thought that some of those folks were "On the payroll", so 2 speak...

As 4 Prince, no I would not quit my job and hold up signs everyday outside the courthouse. I'm sure we'd all wish 4 jury duty if we lived in that city! wink

I love ol' boy and have for a long time, but no, if he were on trial or going to court to sue somebody, there's no way in hell, I'd give up or neglect my business trying to see him.

Now would I try to use my credentials, abuse my power, or call in some favors, to get myself legally into the courtroom? Damn skippy!! razz

You’re right many of those people use mike as a crutch for their own issues, which lead to graphics like this on MJ Boards.

I have spoken to many who waited outside the courthouse, especially at the first arraignment when there were thousands. A few of them have obsessive personalities. Many of those obsessive fans on MJ boards are also into Prince. biggrin

I don't think they come on here though. lol

i just noticed it! i was lookin at the graphic as a whole and then i'm like, "hold up...they didn't really need that "g" to glow, 'specially where it's located. they coulda just made the entire word glow or somethin. that's sooooo naughty."

No a thousand times no. Wait for tickets to a concert ... yes. Watch him enter/exit a court room and hold up signs. Please. I'll send my support via his his website.

I would not show up for support at any court if Prince was in trouble. What the hell good would that do? He's the one that has the $$ to get off the hook and I am sure he would handle himself just fine without some whacked out fan screaming in front of the court building.
