The Prince addiction

Do you ever find yourself trying not to listen to Prince but end up listening anyway? I've been listening to Prince since 1981 and I seem to be an addict for his music. I've even tried to listen to other musicians but always go back to Prince in a matter of days. Does this happen to you??

I really got into Hendrix for a spell but always went back to Prince in a few days. I know Prince has a mass catalog of music to choose from and if you have live or studio your set. Can I truly have an addiction? Listening to Prince has become sencond nature since 1981. I feel if I don't get my Prince fix I won't have a good day. I know, I know this sounds crazy but hey its true.

I know its not healthy but I'm always listening to Prince. I even stopped for almost a month but freaked out and threw on 1999 and since then I haven't missed a day....anyone else here on the org know where I'm coming from?

Even on the odd day that I tell myself I'm gonna give Prince a rest, I almost always end up going right back to his music.

A little while back I was going through a heavy Radiohead/Jeff Buckley fix, but even then I snuck some Prince in.

I listen to his music every day.

Snap

I held off from buying the Graffiti Bridge album until I saw the movie first (just like I did with Purple Rain). It was tough, but I did it! Maybe that's why I like certain songs more than other people here -- because I saw the way they were presented in the movie first. I remember hearing "Tick Tick Bang" in a movie preview and thinking that was some of the best music Prince had done in awhile -- and I still love that song (the original is cool too in its new wave way).

Also, I've tried not to rush out and buy every new Prince album in the same month it's released. That's not easy either. Ever since the 1999 album, I've gotten each consecutive album in order. I doubt there'll ever be a time when I won't. The only album to ever catch me by surprise was Come -- I saw it on the shelf at Target and was like eek -- I must've had a busy year that year!

Prince is only one of many artists that I listen to. Even in the early 1980s, when I thought Prince could do no wrong, I still listened to tons of other artists.

I listen to Prince a little more than the rest, because he's my favorite, but I don't listen to him exclusively. He usually always works his way into the mix though. lol

I donlt think there is a minute in my day where I donlt have music on. I even fall asleep with the stereo on.

I listen to all types of music but there isn't a single day where there isn't at least one Prince song in the mix.
In the distance a light shines and I know it is mine. Someday I will touch it because it calls me. It says cross the line, cross the line. I know everything is not always what it seems, so I pinch myself daily just in case it's a dream

I listen 2 alot of different types of music..but Prince music is the only thing that gives me that same WOW factor..
Even years later, I will hear a song that I haven't in a while and there will be this little sound I haven't heard and I remember.. that's why I love Prince

I rarely go a day without listening to at least 1 Prince song. I've had weeks to a month without listening to him. I even listen to the radio sometimes and play other artists CD's but one way or another, I would have an urge to hear a certain song from Prince and then before I know it, I'm back to listening to him exclusively.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that
