What's Prince's style of clothing called. Prince was revoloutionary like his former band's name. He had his own talk, walk, dance, attitude, music, and of course look.
He's got well groomed hair, high heels, and many different stles. But his most noteable style is his Purpel Rail dress. Allmost all in Purple he's wear a long coat, heelsm shirt with rufffles, and glitter on his sholders. Just what would you call this look?I can't think of anyone on his genre that wears much of the styles he does really. Working up a purple sweat.

I think the style might be called "Edwardian". That era is known for lace, gold brocade, velvets, dapper vests and tall heeled boots, and pearls. Prince played with this kind of fashion by adding psychodelic paisley prints, long elbow legnth gloves and all that scrumdillyicious stuff. "All of me give 2 thee down at your feet ...
The reassurance in your rhythm speaks 2 me." -------------------------------------------------------- "I wanna hold U, wrap U up in lace. And I wanna kiss U, kiss U all over your face."

OceanOfViolets is right -- it's called "Edwardian" -- I think Marie France may have designed some of these for Prince.

lace garments for a male here is a source 4 u http://www.libertybellmus...lshirt.htm http://www.libertybellmus...uffs.htm if u are looking for lacey shirts like in purple rain - search for "lace","jabot" and "cuffs". men and women wore them - so maybe are thinking there is a man's version. long lace gloves (for a guy) and sheer lace pants were prince's twist on the style. That is the best name for that revolutionary style!!! As i'm thinking, i remember articles always refered prince's clothes as "edwardian" (because of the paisley patterns) but then as others also wore this look - it became known as "neo-romantic". I forgot all about that until mentioned it. thank u ehuffnsd! Adam Ant seemed to be the first pop artist of the 80s with romantic clothes. Paul Revere and the Raiders had a romantic look too in the 60/70s. "All of me give 2 thee down at your feet ...
The reassurance in your rhythm speaks 2 me." -------------------------------------------------------- "I wanna hold U, wrap U up in lace. And I wanna kiss U, kiss U all over your face."

Reffering to King Edward - a King in England. The styles of fashion and art and general world view of the people can be named after the royals - since they set the standards usually. Victorian era is named for Queen Victoria Edwardian era is named for King Edward (the 6th or 7th i think) What would the Fluidian style look like? "All of me give 2 thee down at your feet ...
The reassurance in your rhythm speaks 2 me." -------------------------------------------------------- "I wanna hold U, wrap U up in lace. And I wanna kiss U, kiss U all over your face."

O honestly say if he made his outfits black he could be a goth.
Goth's wear the same clothing he does almost. SInce he's mysterious and undergournd he's go perfect at a Gothic-Industrial joint. He's also got the new-romantic attitude. Working up a purple sweat.
