Do you really think you're going to be the only one who thinks that on a Prince fansite?

Why, his album bombed here and rightly so..it was utter garbage.Prince is well past his sell by date musically...live...that's a different matter.

The only reason the album was so big in the US was because he gave it away, if he hadn't it would have sold nothing.

Hmm, don't think he got quite enough hype over here in Blighty this year to be fair..so they have just kind of ignored him as usual...

He has had success at the Brits in the past though of course - Best International Group with the Revolution and best soundtrack in '84, and Best International Solo Artist in '92 and '93

On the plus side, at least the Beddingfields chose to murder a non-Prince song in the end.

Well at least it was an interesting arrangement and they are pretty good singers.

I'm unsure why anyone really takes the Brits seriously anyway, I can think of many acts that deserve a lifetime achievement award other than Bob Geldof.

I thought they were great. I really good arrangement. I hope they do a single of it. At least they made an effort, unlike some acts.

Prince didn't deserve a nomination this year. He hasn't done anthing in the uk. I'm not sure about Tom Waits either.

Brian Wilson has sold a lot this year, and had a sell out tour.

i was pleasently surprised by that lassie joss stone, i thought she was fucking amazing, the song she sang with the gospel background was amazing. For a white girl she sure has alot of soul in her voice. Robbie made a tit of himself singing next to her. I will definately be shelling out on her album

peace

Yes thanks to the great British public, Angels is the best song from the past 25 years, no doubt re-released on Valentine's Day..sigh

Prince has put absolutely no effort into the UK or European markets in the last 12 months (and more)... he can't expect to get anything out of it if he doesn't put anything in

You should be the only one that thinks that... WHat exactly has P done in the UK this year except bring out an album no one knows about and no one bought?

the Brits are quite strange that way.
Beck usually pops up every few years for best international male
regardless if he has done anything or not.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

Aint nothing wrong with that song... It may not be up to your taste which is fair enough, but you cant knock it for its popularity, its staying power and how it has crossed generations from grandmothers to teeny boppers...

Im not a big Robbie fan but I think its the best thing he has ever done and you cannot deny how big he is in this country...

I can knock it for it's popularity and it's staying power. It's a huge, overblown, obvious, swathed in strings and piano 'power ballad'. Anyone who likes this songs is a fucking idiot and knows nothing about music. Dig deeper and the rewards are greater.

Sorry but it is. If you like that song then you've made your choice. I am so fucking sick of Williams i could projectile vomit blood. Since when did we start listening to village idiots? There are some truly awe inspiring artists and musicians around, with songs that can greatly enrich us. It's utter laziness to listen to this garbage.

It is a bad state of affairs when a tubby ex boyband member singing a crap song which he didnt even write himself soars in popularity over "love will tear us apart" by joydivision. He may be popular but that doesn't excuse the fact that he has no talent

But the public are saying it is the best track in the past 25 years, don't you find that worrying.

softandwet

to be honest i'm 95% sure robbie writes the lyrics to all his songs and has done from the start, and angels is written about his mother and the help she gave him while he was getting off drugs

personally the song does my fucking head in but it's very well written. it's just ridiculously overplayed. in time it might be viewed a little differently, but i don't think you can argue with the fact it's still one of the most requested songs on radio 8 years after it's release

but yeah, i can't stand it!
