Proof of how out of prestige the grammys are?

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Pop star Britney Spears won the first Grammy Award of her brief but colorful career on Sunday, taking the prize in the best dance recording category.
Spears, 23, was honored for her chart-topping song "Toxic," which appeared on her 2003 album "In the Zone."

1. Prince was making albums that would alter the face of music; they were far more than likable dance music which is what Usher offers. Usher is far closer Michael Jackson in this regard.
2. Prince wasn't winning Grammy's left and right. In fact, Purple Rain got screwed. I think he won 2 for PR and 1 for I Feel For You that year. He lost Album of the Year to Lionel Richie in one of the great jokes in Grammy history. People complain about SOTT losing to Joshua Tree, at least JT was a great album.
