Prince's all-star horn section (choose 3 players!) who would u take if you could have only 3 horn players from all of princes bands?
i know this is hard,but 1.eric leeds-bari sax 2.maceo parker-alto sax 3.atlanta bliss- trumpet honorable mention 4.candy dufler-sax 5.eddie m-sax 6.najee-i don't know he never really seemed to fit in the times i saw him with prince...to KENNY G ish for me..not funky enough! MILES DAVIS who else? 2nd choice: Eric Leeds (sop./bar. sax) Matt Blistan (trumpet) Michael Nelson (trombone) - or maybe Dr. Fink and his fat and sharp analog synths horn riffs, the original Minneapolis sound. ...and btw Najee is to jazz what Michael Bolton was to soul, and Maceo seriously need to chill, just like Eddie M and Candy D and basically alto sax players in general! Maceo's cool, but I always (want to) hear Eric's horn in his music. It's like Eric belongs to Prince music like Maceo belongs to JB's. | |
