I like "Damn U" for showing off his vocal skills.

Until U're In My Arms Again. It takes a real talented singer to be able to pull off a great song when singing about your deceased son, and he does it excellently.

totally agree with God. i listened to this a lot when i first got into Jeff Buckley, just something about it. Grand Progression does a similar thing for me in the chorus.
Condition Of The Heart too. I love the note near the end, "i'm blinded by the daises in your yaaaaard.....there was a girl", all in the one breath. "Prince don't hear Ravel when he wanna make love to his woman. He hears drums and shit." Miles Davis

Adore & Dark, I'd say... and Kiss, the ending shows his range very well. "Can't keep my eyes from the circling skies -
tongue-tied and twisted, just an earthbound misfit, I"

I really love the way he sings this line. Excellent control. Okay, I'm a big dork. I didn't notice that the author on this thread said that he liked the song GOD....more coffee. There are certain tones that Prince has that just drive me nuts. Yes, "to rule the night" gets to me especially the way his voice sounds on "night". It's so raw and heartfelt. Condition of the Heart and Grand Progression are awesome too. He hits the highs and lows very well. I love the chord changes in Grand Progression they are really inventive. When I first heard it I didn't know what the chord changes were going to be like from measure to measure unlike some songs. Good description -- it's one of my all-time fav Prince compositions -- oh how I wish he'd release it without making any changes (except in the sound quality of course).

I Love You But I Don't Trust You Anymore, as much as i think it's a gorgeous song, about 4 bars in you realise you can sing Case Of U over it. the version of God on Purple Rain Syracuse has to be the best i've ever heard Prince's singing. everything about that version- "he made a man, only he could" and the screams at the end. that first scream....moments like these make me think he really was beamed onto this planet to help us. "Prince don't hear Ravel when he wanna make love to his woman. He hears drums and shit." Miles Davis
