What's with Pink Cashmere???? Okay, I am not trying to be a smart a**, but reading through threads, everyone thinks that Pink Cashmere is one of P's best love songs. I have never liked the song, much less give it that much acclaim.
What am I missing??? Don't be shy, this won't hurt a bit
Unless of course U don't believe in it

I don’t necessarily consider it a love song, though I guess it is. But I really enjoy the laid back tempo of it and the guitar solo towards the end. To me its one of those songs you listen to when you want to mellow out and not think too much of the songs “meaning”. Like when you’re driving home at night after a hard days work. Helps me relax.

plus it has some kick ass beautiful guitar playing. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

It's a great tune. It's gotta be one of Prince's best sounding songs, quality wise.
Plus... if he actually made that chick a coat of pink cashmere, my hat is off to his ass. I took home economics in 7th grade and sewing is some hard shit to do. For all we know, the pink coat had one sleeve longer than the other, but damn, at least he tried. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

It sounds beautiful.
On a side note, Underneath the Cream sounds exactly like it. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

The falsetto on Pink Cashmere is second to none and I love the guitars on it.

To me it is a perfectly composed and arranged song with a beautiful, relaxed atmosphere. I always felt it sounds like a fresh breeze, U know, the strings and the guitar and all that... I like it a lot. "Can't keep my eyes from the circling skies -
tongue-tied and twisted, just an earthbound misfit, I"

I think it's a great song and shows just what a musical genius Prince is. Very much like the subject in hand, the track is lush and warm. Clare Fischer's string arrangement is beautiful giving the track a soft and sensual coating. Vocally Prince is at his best glidingly delicatly from long, lush falsetto to improvised true soul stepping. All this and with an awesomly restrained electric guitar solo that Prince could play with his eyes closed.

I think its a very average song, and was not worthy of getting on the Hits set. Even Pope was more interesting. .

Well, I think the song is romantic and sexy. But music means different things to diffrent people. No shame in "missing" it. Alot of people are crazy about songs that I think are just lame.

Prince gave a pink cashmere coat to one of his girlfriends: Anna Garcia aka Anna Fantastic (Prince renamed her, of course). She claims she still has the coat.
