It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night was recorded live at 'Le Zenith', Paris, on
August 25 1986. It was heavily reworked and overdubbed in the studio, and most
of the lyrics were changed/added later. Apart from some of the chants like;
"Beautiful night, y'all say..", "Oh-we-oh oh-oh" (taken from the Wizard of Oz)
& "Can't nobody fuck with us" it was virtually instrumental. Sheila's
'Transmississippirap' was recorded over the phone when she was in a hotel in
Tennesse while Prince was working on the track at Sunset Sound, She later
also added some percussion to the track. Jill Jones & Susannah Melvoin also
added vocals to the track.

Is this the same for "Adore"? The track always sounded live to me, and I wondered if there was ever a studio version made.

Adore is a studio track, it's not live. It was recorded at Sunset Sound on
November 20 1986 during the same sessions that Prince recorded the studio
overdubs for It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night.
