I've decided to give my vote to "It's Gonna Be a Beautiful Night"
If for nothing else to try to save Play in the Sunshine. While Play is not one of the classic tunes on this set. I dont think it should go THIS early. I always thought it was a good "fun" song... IMO | |

It...and for four reasons.
1) The repetitive drum track that just bangs on and on and sticks in your head for all the wrong reasons. 2) When the album came out in 87, I was reading Stephen King's "It" and I couldn't figure out the connection. 3) Just trying to imagine the Abbot and Costello routine that went on in the recording studio: Prince: I'm going to record "It" now. Studio Engineer: You're going to record what? Prince: "It" Studio Engineer: That's what I'm asking, what is it that your recording. Prince: "It" is what I'm recording. Studio Engineer: What is what you're recording? Prince: No "What" is in the Vault...recorded it last Tuesday. (Argument goes on for several minutes before Prince has the Engineer fired.) 4) He calls the song "It", make people guess what he's talking about the whole song, and then he ruins it by saying "f**ing on your mind". Either say it or don't say it. Don't fill in the blanks for the people who can't figure it out. All good things they say never last... | |
