Hmmm....first of all, I think their personalities would seriously clash. Elton John used to hold Prince's music and talent in high regard. After criticizing Prince's decisions to put out 3 and 4 CD albums claiming that he could use an editor, Prince took the defensive and fired back shots at Elton.

I think they both still make quality music however. I just don't see a collaboration between them going very well. Elton is quite the egomaniac himself like Prince, and I think they would disagree about a lot of stuff musically.

It would be like Madonna and Janet doing a duet!
Elton and Prince are VERY BITCHY DIVAS and there would be much cat-fighting going on!!!!

The clash of personalities could produce chaos and disorder mark 2. But then again, if they could only get someone to act as producer and try to maintain some discipline the results could be good. But who could control those two prima donnas?

Elton only writes the music. Someone else writes the lyrics (Bernie Taupin). And Prince's biggest problem at the moment seems to be lyrics. So, no! A collaboration would be crap !!

Elton John? The same gay man who took stage with Eminem? Just wanting to be in the spotlight and not even caring to do this with M&M killerboy who so openly raps about how he thinks about homosexuals (and really, really shows lots of respect for homosexual men, and many other humans on this earth....).
It did't bother Elton...as long as the limelight is on him.

Now what can he GIVE Prince? There is no spotlight there...
