what'd i say-we are in e man i have a recording of prince playing "what'd i say" ray charles song.
after first verse prince says:we are in e man, after that somebody plays a lousy guitar solo. after that solo prince takes guitar, and he rips into short but great blues solo. and prince says "i just wanted to check if it works." so my question is:who was on the stage playing guitar with prince, and why did prince say we are in e man?

It's a recording of Prince's set at Paisley Park on February 13, 1994. Prince invites a guy out of the audience who he refers to as 'Tattoo'. The song is clearly played in E major - Prince gives him the key to help him out. As the song closes he jokingly refers to him as 'Bud Light' Following the next song, another member of the audience is invited on stage and plays piano. . ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.
