so... i'm on launch.com... watching videos and i stumble across "Commercial" and it was for the album. My question is... was it actually a commercial aired in 92 to promote the album or 3 Chains 'O' Gold? Or was this an actual video aired on MTV?

I didn't check the link you provided, but I remember the commercial...I believe it aired in '92 during the program "The Ryde Divine" and I think it was promoting the album.

I also found that video a couple of months back.I wondered where it came from because it was all mixed with different songs or something like that

It's the video for 2 Whom It May Concern, a track incorporating parts of most of the album songs (but not just a medley), which was also the b-side to both My Name Is Prince and Damn U. It uses one of the "7" remixes as its basis. Great track. Lousy video.

i think i remember it being at the end of the sexy m.f. video that you could buy in stores....
it was before the symbol got released....

and it was definitely to promote the album...
you definitely thought the album was going to have tons of singles and great videos..... oh well...
