Prince: History Repeats Parts I & II I just noticed a bit of a trend in some of Prince's style...the old is coming back a bit at a time!
Receiving an award for purple rain in 1985 
Again in 2005, Twenty years later. 
Almost looks like a wife beater turtle neck...in 1992 
And again in 2004 
Heres that laid back, t-shirt look in 1990 
And again in 2004 This is my favorite...make a mistake once, no big deal. just learn from it, Prince wanted to see if it worked the second time... 
A poster from 1978, and if youve seen the alternate version of I wanna Be Your Lover, you know this look doesnt work in blue either. 
And he did it again in 1990...12 years later! 
Here, during the lovesexy tour, with a polka dot theme in 1988 
and again in 2004. 
This one isnt really a fashion repeat, but it is Prince showing off his toys in 1985, I think... 
and again in 2000.

Here it is again in 1988, this time trading the hankercheif for really long gloves

Pretty good thread. Nice work.
One thing though-I'm pretty sure that last pic is actually Mayte. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

You know, if I had to talk about a period of time I miss in Prince's career, it would be 92-96, when he was playing with the gun mic and gettin' kinda crazy. He was dealing with a lot of stuff, but he was expressing himself in a very unique way. The "Mama Said Knock You Out" pic of him up there is a good example. | |

his look does repeat sometime. I remember the "ear cuff thing" he's wearing now from a few years ago
